Brompton Advance Derailleur

This is a replacement derailleur for Brompton folding bikes with 4-speed and 12-speed setups

Brompton compatibility

This derailleur is compatible with:

C Line

  • Brompton C Line 12-speed
  • Brompton C Line Electric 4-speed
  • Brompton C Line Electric 12-speed

G Line Electric

  • Brompton G Line Electric 4-speed

P Line

  • Brompton P Line 4-speed
  • Brompton P Line 12-speed

T Line

  • Brompton T Line 4-speed
  • Brompton T Line 12-speed

Notes:
The four speed derailleur should only be used with the 4-speed shifter
It is vital to keep the key functional components clean and lubricated

The Brompton 4-speed derailleur is NOT compatible with:
  • pre-2022 Brompton folding bikes (1-speed / 2-speed/ 3-speed / 5-speed or 6-speed)
  • A Line / B75
  • C Line (except 12-speed) 

Old code Q102712, the pre-2022 version, was replaced with the current product Q102995. The difference is that Q102712 the spring has 10 coils and so does not provide enough tension in the spring to be able to index the gears correctly, this was replaced with Q102995 where the spring has 7 coils and so will shift and index correctly

The pack consists of:

  • Brompton Advance derailleur 
  • Fixing bolts

  • 2mm Allen key / hex wrench

Tools required for installation:

  • 2mm Allen key / hex wrench

The derailleur is attached to the hanger using two bolts, which are tightened using a 2mm Allen (hex) key

After installation check the limit scores are set up correctly. The limit screw are set up like a standard derailleur, setting up to limit how far the derailleur can carry the chain inside or out, a 2,, Allen (hex) key is required to adjust
