Brompton Front wheel - standard
This is a standard (as opposed to extra / super light) Brompton front wheel.
Double wall rim version of the wheel - introduced by Brompton at the beginning of 2013. The rim is the straight drilled hole version (Q part code: QRIM-28-STD). The rim tape is now yellow (previous to the 2013 and onwards model it was blue)
The Brompton front wheel size is 16 x 1 3/8 - ISO/ETRTO 37-349 (although really that's the default tyre size - the wheel takes tyres with a diameter 349mm)
This 16 inch front wheel manufactured by Brompton for their folding bike range comes complete with the following:
- Wheel nuts
- Washers
- Tab washers
- Rim tape (yellow for the double wall rim)
- Fitting instructions.
The Brompton front wheel is radially laced - meaning that the spokes come out from the hub to the rim without criss-crossing any other spokes. This gives a nice clean look
We are often asked why we dont rebuild these wheels when they wear out (rim wear will depend upon riding style / cleanliness / brake pads / weather) - its because by the time a rim (sometimes spokes) and labour are added up - it's cheaper to get a new wheel!
Cone nuts: Outer locknut requires a 15mm cone wrench (or spanner) / inner requires a 14mm cone wrench
Rim: QRIM-28-STD - Standard / straight drilled 28 hole double wall rim (introduced in 2013)

For the newer (2013 onwards) double wall rim: QSPOK-145-PG-14G
