Brompton Mid rise / M type rear brake cable
The Brompton rear brake cable kit for mid rise / M type includes:
- Cable outer (length: 1290 mm)
- Brake cable (length: 1493 mm)
- Gaiter (to help keep out water)
- Cable end cap (to prevent fraying of cable)
- Outer end cap (silver brass) for caliper end
- Outer end cap (black) for brake end
- Data sheet
Tools required
- Cable cutters / crimping tool for attaching the end-cap
- 10mm spanner to release / tighten the cable in the caliper
This is essential if you are upgrading your Brompton to the newer (for 2013) aluminium brake levers requiring the larger nipple
Note: this is for the long wheelbase Brompton (the long wheelbase was introduced in 2004) with 30 degree levers with closed clevis and new aluminium brake levers introduced in 2013. Not sure? See the download tab for the Brompton document.
Another note: this is for a Brompton where the right hand brake lever is for the front brake and the laft hand lever is for the rear brake - British style.
This cable is for the M-type / Mid rise only, not H, P or S type

This cable and outer is made for Brompton by Jagwire The cable / outer used is: CGX-SL - high carbon, low compression coiled steel with a Slick-Lube liner Coiled Steel, Lubricated Brake Housing No-nonsense, OE-quality brake housing using high carbon coiled steel wrapped around an inner liner. This coiled steel structure will allow some compression, but the high-quality, high carbon steel used limits the amount. Made in Belgium |
