Frog Tadpole Plus
New from Frog for Summer 2015 was this Tadpole Plus
In 2020 Frog teamed up with A.S.O the organisers of the Tour de France™, to produce this yellow bike with black logos.
What is a balance bike?
Imagine how daunting it is - trying to learn to ride a bike, balancing it, steering, pedalling and braking
The pedalling is often what unbalances the early efforts and can lead to a lack of confidence
A balance (sometimes called a training) bike allows the rider to sit on the saddle and run along the ground - then lift their feet and freewheel along - practicing balancing
A rear brake means that going downhill doesn't mean out of control - and allows training in the brake too as they build up speed and confidence
Tadpole Plus Key Features:
Lightweight yet sturdy frame - weighing in at just 4.2kg or 9.2lbs (approx) - if you go out for an family walk and end up carrying the tadpole then you will appreciate the light weight
Soft handlebar grips
Easy to grip Tektro rear brake with adjustable lever, specifically designed for smaller hands
The brake is mounted above the rear stay to keep it away from the rider's feet
14 inch wheels with pneumatic (air filled tyres) for comfort (some balance bikes have solid tyres)
Quick release seat-post for easy height adjustment
The locking headset means the handlebars have a steering limiter, which is safer for learners
Colour: The Frog Tadpole PLUS is available in red, pink, union jack, green and Yellow and black - Tour de France (this one)
Reflectors and a bell are included.
Free 5 year warranty available on the frame and forks (subject to registering your details with Frog), 2 years on all other parts
