Brompton C Line 12-speed folding bike

The 12-speed version of the C Line was originally introduced in 2024 (replacing the 6-speed)

Gearing wise it uses 4 derailleur gears combined with 3 internal hub gears - which gives 12 speeds in total

Brompton C Line 12-speed specification:

1. Frame

All steel:

  • Steel Main frame and stem
  • Steel forks
  • Steel advance rear triangle

Folded size: 585mm wide x 565mm tall by 270mm deep

2 Colour
Main frame: Choice of colours (Amethyst Lacquer and Cloud Metallic are premium finishes which cost a bit extra!)
Handlebar stem: Colour to match main frame
Forks: Colour to match main frame
Rear triangle: Colour to match main frame
Decal: Depending upon main frame colour
Detailing: Black


3. Handlebars

There is a choice of two handlebar styles the Brompton electric:

  • Mid rise similar to the classic Brompton style bars (previously known as the M type)
  • High rise (same actual bar as a mid rise but with a longer handlebar stem (previously known as the H type)

The new e-Motiq electric has similar bars to the T Line - 31.8mm diameter and slightly wider than traditional Brompton bikes to make the steering less twitchy

5. Front luggage system

The C line comes with the electric front carrier block fitted to allow for carrying of the battery (to power the bike) and a Brompton electric essentials bag

6. Mudguards / Rack
This bike comes with black advance mudguards
No rack / roller frame is included - though it can be retro-fitted


7. Roller wheels

New advance roller wheels help keep the bike stable when folded 

8. Tyres / Wheels

Marathon racer tyres - black / reflective
Low rolling resistance and good puncture protection 

16 inch (ETRTO size 349) wheels with double wall rim

  • 28 spokes  on the rear
  • 28 spokes on the front

The wheels have black hubs, silver spokes and black rims (the braking surface is still silver)

Schrader / car type 8mm valve 

9. Saddle

Brompton standard saddle - 147mm wide

This saddle features chromoly rails and the fixing point for the Brompton Cateye or Be Seen rear light 

If you want it changed for a wide saddle we can do this at no extra cost

10. Seat height
Standard seatpost for riders with an inside leg measurement of up to 33 inches
(If you are taller - up to 35 inch inside leg - then an extended length seatpost can be fitted at no extra cost)
For very tall riders a telescopic seatpost is available at extra cost 

Saddle height insert is included - we recommend you fit that after riding the bike for a while


11. Suspension
Along with the new C Line electric comes a new advance suspension block


12. Lighting / reflectors

Front and rear reflectors are included

It's easy to retrofit battery lighting such as:

  • Brompton Spanning solo rear light
  • Brompton CatEye 500lm front light
  • Brompton Be Seen light set
